Health Union, Atopicderamatitis.net
In my role as an online moderator and writer for Health Union’s AtopicDermatitis.net, I draw on my lived experience with severe atopic dermatitis to foster community, elevate awareness, and offer meaningful support. Through storytelling, advocacy, and engagement, I aim to create connection and empower others navigating life with eczema.
My writing often explores both the medical and emotional dimensions of living with chronic illness. For example, I share what it’s like to be on my third biologic treatment, offering readers an honest look at the challenges and resilience involved. I also highlight innovative approaches such as applying neuroplasticity techniques to manage eczema, showing how mindset and brain training can complement medical care.
Beyond moderating discussions, I craft articles and personal reflections that translate complex medical information into accessible, empathetic narratives. My work encourages patients and families to feel seen, validated, and informed — bridging the gap between clinical knowledge and lived experience.
I collaborate with fellow advocates, healthcare professionals, and organizations to amplify patient voices and ensure that education is inclusive and relatable. Whether highlighting treatment journeys, addressing stigma, or sharing practical coping strategies, my contributions reflect a long‑standing commitment to education, empathy, and visibility in the eczema space.
This portfolio showcases not only my writing but also my dedication to building supportive communities, shaping conversations around chronic illness, and inspiring resilience through authentic storytelling.

Dermatology Times interview with Renata Block
I am grateful to have been featured in Dermatology Times’ Derm Dispatch series, interviewed by Renata Block, DMSc, MMS, PA‑C, a board‑certified dermatology physician assistant and member of the publication’s editorial advisory board. In our conversation, I shared my lifelong journey with eczema and how it shaped my path as a patient advocate. We discussed the challenges of growing up with atopic dermatitis, the importance of compassionate care, and how effective treatments and supportive clinicians can transform both confidence and outcomes. I also emphasized the power of empathy and listening reminding us that every patient’s story matters. Watch Here

Classroom Advocacy
In my advocacy journey, I’ve had the privilege of visiting classrooms to spark awareness about eczema and the broader experience of living with health conditions. By sharing my own story, I help students recognize that challenges may be visible on the surface or invisible to the eye, yet they all shape how we move through the world. These conversations open the door to curiosity, empathy, and a deeper appreciation for the diversity of our lived realities. I encourage students to reflect on how each of us is born with our own unique circumstances. Because we don’t always know what someone else may be experiencing, visible or invisible, these differences become opportunities to practice compassion and acceptance. By fostering dialogue around kindness and inclusion, I aim to empower young people to carry these values into their everyday lives, creating communities where everyone feels seen and supported.
